Welcome to your Committee Hub

We’re really excited to have you on board as one of our Student Groups. Student Groups are groups of students who volunteer their time to run activities for others, this can be anything from casual meet-ups to physical activities, trips, and more!

Here you will find several online resources that will guide you during your journey as a Student Group Leader, and you’ll find answers to some common questions about running a Group. You will also find important updates happening across the RSU and Student Groups in general, so please check this site often. Carlen & Emily are your point of contact for everything related to your Student Group and can assist you should you encounter any issues or questions. You can also pop down to RSU Reception in Froebel to speak to the RSU Receptionists about booking rooms and completing forms, storing items, and collecting post.

Managing and looking after your Society’s money doesn’t have to be boring. With the resources available you can learn:

Budgeting basics: Planning for day-to-day activities and thinking about large-scale projects

Organising Events

No matter if your event is a low-key hangout session or a field trip to a big museum, planning is key for your event to be a success!

Some tips for you:

Make sure you cover your basics, from Risk Assessments to Room Booking Requests.
Create checklists so nothing falls through the cracks
Promote your events to maximize attendance
Evaluate success and make every event better than the last
Maximise your resources by borrowing equipment from us
Think about Guest Speakers and how they could support your event
